About The Mercado District

The Mercado District is McAllen's indoor food hall and marketplace, operated by MERCADO DISTRICT LLC at 4400 N 23rd St, McAllen, TX 78504. Once known as Bargain Bazaar, the Texas Valley's only indoor flea market for more than 35 years, the property was reimagined starting in 2019 and reopened in 2021 as a vibrant center for local restaurants, retailers, beauty professionals, and community events.

Today the Mercado brings together 15+ restaurant concepts and 120+ retail and service tenants under one roof. Visitors come for global flavors, local boutiques, live music, and family-friendly indoor seating in the Rio Grande Valley.

Our mission

We create a gathering place where entrepreneurs can launch and grow while giving McAllen a year-round destination for dining, shopping, and culture. The Mercado combines tradition with innovation to support local business and strengthen community connections.
