About The Mercado District

The Mercado District is McAllen's indoor destination to eat, drink, shop and catch live music, operated by MERCADO DISTRICT LLC at 4400 N 23rd St, McAllen, TX 78504. Once known as Bargain Bazaar, the Texas Valley's only indoor flea market for more than 35 years, the property was reimagined starting in 2019 and reopened in 2021 as a gathering place for local restaurants, shops, beauty professionals, live music and community events.

Today the Mercado brings together 15+ restaurant concepts and 120+ retail and service tenants under one roof. People come for a night out with friends, a date night, a family afternoon or live music on the weekend: global flavors, a bar, local boutiques and shared air-conditioned seating in the Rio Grande Valley. Free entry, free parking.

Our mission

We create a gathering place where entrepreneurs can launch and grow while giving McAllen a year-round place to go out for dining, drinks, shopping, live music and culture. The Mercado combines tradition with innovation to support local business and strengthen community connections.
